| Falcon Crest runs a gallant third to Pounamu |
"towards Cups assault"
Falcon Crest has returned in tip top form at three runs from a spell, on track for an assault on the Pinjarra / Bunbury Cups.
The 5yo Musket gelding ran a slashing fourth first up over 1400m at Ascot, beaten just a half length to Settlers Creek before stepping up to a mile on rain affected ground at Pinjarra. He was gallant in defeat, ploughing through the worst part of the track to be overcome by Pounamu and Tonto by 1.5 lengths.
In one of his final lead ups, the listed Detonator Stakes last Saturday, Falcon Crest again ran on stoutly, overshadowed by the inform Pounamu, running third over the 1800m.
Next stop is the AHA Cup over 2000m at Bunbury on the 12th of March before heading to the Cups.
