"Leading horse with a month to go."
Planet Claire took the equal lead in the Kalgoorlie Horse of the Year with Sugar Man after her impressive win over Lee Rani and Kalarena at Kalgoorlie on Sunday.

The Zedrich mare recently transferred to the stables of Dan Morton, was ridden perfectly by Jordan Mallyon, who sat handy just behind the warm favourite, Lee Rani.

She was always travelling well and when Mallyon pushed her out of her pocket, she collared Lee Rani and won running away.

She has now won four races this season, all at Kalgoorlie and was unlucky at both runs in town.

Dan Morton was happy with the new acquisition to his stables and took advantage of his sattelite set up in Kalgoorlie, running for $17,000 on the weekend, just shy of midweek stakes in Perth.
