"off to Broome"
(David) Husslehoff returned to the track yesterday after a seven week gap due to a hoof abscess and had a good hitout before being loaded for the truck for WA's sunny Northwest and the carnival in Broome.

Husslehoff showed plenty of dash in leading against a handy field before being taken on the whole way by Hurricane Hound. He railed through and got the better of Hurricane Hound before his condition failed in the last 150m, which was understandable.

Chris Gangemi was delighted with the run with a view to taking him to Broome for the first meeting on June 2. That kind of dash, speed and fight is the perfect combination for being successful on the dirt, not to mention Husslehoff is by Hussonet, the sire of noted dirt performers.

Despite running eigth, the run was exactly what the stable wanted to see in that kind of company with Scorn Saxon (the winner) and Lord Balthazar (2nd) both potential Saturday winners.

Husslehoff's preparation will now be taken over by John Gangemi, who also takes Henley Street, The Bing and Central Park for the season at Broome.
