We managed to secure this lovely horse from the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale. We were very impressed when we inspected him and to say we were delighted to secure him would be an understatement. He is by Iglesia who is now deceased. In Iglesia's two year old season he had six starts for three wins including the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes in Sydney. He also ran fourth in the Golden Slipper behind Prowl after drawing the outside barrier and racing wide throughout. He showed his tenacity and courage by fighting on all the way to the finish line. Iglesia is also a half brother to multiple Group 1 winner and Melbourne Cup runner up in Yippyio.

This geldings full brother was purchased for $170,000 at the Premier session of the 2007 Gold Coast Magic Millions sale. He is also half brother to Trevor Andrews' former smart three year old in Relocate. Relocate had his fair share of ability and this was shown in his first few starts where he managed two wins from his first three race starts. He then finished fourth beaten only 1.5 lengths in the listed Challenge Stakes over 1400m behind the Group 1 winner Mr Sandgroper and the listed winner Knight Academy. His other half brother by Stravinsky is the Melbourne winner of over $100,000 in Czar of Macedon.

With his black or brown coloured coat and his big white blaze you won't be able to miss him thundering down the home straight in the Ascot Bloodstock colours.

This gelding settled in well after his trip from the Gold Coast. He was a dream to break in and as you can see from the photo's he is a lovely looking horse. This horse has athleticism written all over him.

Glacial Energy came back to the stables in July 09 only to be diagnosed with a neck complaint which we assume happened in the spelling paddock. He was treated and tipped out for a further let up to get over the injury. He has made a full recovery and has not shown any signs of the problem since.

He is now back in work on a slow program to strengthen his neck muscles under the watchful eye of Shane Edwards. Shane made comment as soon as laying eyes on the gelding that he really liked the look of him.

Glacial Energy is had his first trial on 23rd August 2010 for a comprehensive two length win. He was ridden by gun Apprentice Jockey Jarrad Noske who reported that he was a 'serious racehorse, with plenty of improvement'. Now thats pretty scary to think that he has so much improvement left in him on such a dominant display in his first trial.
